People say the AMC is an enterprising hospital that is open and eager to accept what is new, and does not hesitate to confront changes. This nature influenced the implementation of digital hospital environment in the AMC.

The AMC's process of building a digital hospital environment was equivalent to making a new history in the hospital IT field. With the introduction of the order communication system (OCS) in the early days of its establishment, the AMC built the Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) in 2000, the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) in 2004, and the next-generation Order Communication System in 2005. It also applied the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to wards and outpatient departments from 2003 to 2007 including the Emergency Care Center in 2003.
