The Robotic Training Center provides trainings on robotic surgical skills using the newly-introduced da Vinci Xi model.
AMC’s Robotic Surgery Training Center introduced a state-of-the-art robotic surgical system to improve the professionalism of training. The Asia’s fourth robotic training center opened in 2013 has introduced the latest da Vinci Xi Model to keep up with the global trend in robot-assisted surgery. Now AMC has three units (2 Si model, 1 Xi model) in operating rooms and two units (1 Si model, 1 Xi model) in a robotic surgery training center.
The Robotic Surgery Training Center has trained 320 medical professionals in domestic and foreign. Among 320 medical professionals, overseas participants especially from Taiwan, Vietnam, China, the Philippines, and Malaysia as well as medically-advanced countries such as Australia, Japan, and Singapore account for more than half.
The center provides a wide range of training programs: ▲basic training course to learn clinical skills of robotic surgery ▲ in-depth training led by the faculty ▲nurse training course for the usage and management of robotic system. In particular, the observation course that offers participants an opportunity to observe very difficult robot-assisted surgeries of cancers and heart. Besides, the programs are organized and implemented by professional coordinators to meet the needs of participants. These are the reasons why the programs are so popular among participants.
The director of Robotic Training Center, Hong Jun-hyuk said, “We will develop more professional training courses utilizing our strengths which have been performed more than 8,000 robot-assisted surgeries in various departments. As the demand for robotic surgery has increased dramatically in Asia region, more physicians are expected to get customized trainings.”
