Former AMC President Jung-shin Lee appointed to board
of Qatar�셲 Supreme Council of Health
Former AMC President Jung-shin Lee has been appointed as a board member to Qatar�셲 Supreme Council
of Health. After he accompanied the vice-minister of Health and Welfare to Qatar last November as the head
of a Middle East public relations delegation, the Qatari government recognized the excellence of the hospital
as well as the quality of South Korea�셲 medical sector, and invited former president Lee to become a board member.
The Supreme Council of Health, headed by HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Heir apparent, is Qatar�셲
highest legislative organ of health care policy. The Council is composed of five nationals, including her Highness
Sheikha Mozah and the Minister of Health and Welfare, and three foreigners, including former president Lee,
along with Elias Zerhouni, former executive vice-dean at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine,
and Lord Ara Darzi, who holds the Hamlyn Chair of Surgery at Imperial College London.
