Former president of Mongolia expresses gratitude for wife셲 liver transplant

쏷he facilities and medical staff at AMC are really outstanding. I am very appreciative to have received new life
thanks to the passion of all the staff, including Dr. Sung-Gyu Lee and the nursing staff. I was very impressed with
their consideration of patients psychological needs, not merely clinical care.

After having received a liver transplant, Madam A. Oyunbileg, the spouse of Mongolia셲 former president H.E.
Natsagiin Bagabandi, is slated for discharge in early March. Madam A. Oyunbileg visited AMC last December
suffering from cirrhosis caused by hepatitis B. Dr. Young-Tak Kim, the director of AMC셲 International Clinic,
met with former president N. Bagabandi and Madam A. Oyunbileg, and wished her a quick recovery. He said,
쏻e will do our best for patients from Mongolia that visit AMC. We hope you will help to allow many Mongolians
the opportunity to experience AMC셲 superior facilities and medical technology. Former president N. Bagabandi
said that he was aware of the surgical procedures AMC셲 liver transplantation team had performed on-site in
Mongolia and the medical technology transferred to Mongolian medical professionals. He also commented on his
hope for AMC to continue its efforts to help advance the field of medicine in Mongolia through international exchange.
After the liver transplantation technology transfer program went into full swing in 2011, AMC trained about 40
Mongolian medical professionals and successfully performed 7 living-donor liver transplants (LDLTs) by the end
of 2012. Two additional on-site LDLTs by the AMC team are scheduled for March 8 and 9 in Mongolia.
