Cell Therapy Center

Cell therapy is a new treatment method involving the process of changing a cell's biological property by growing or selecting autologous, allogenic, and xenogenic cells outside the body.

Currently AMC uses adult stem cells in cell therapy, rather than embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cells are cells separated from one's own tissues, and can be used to reproduce cartilage, bone, muscle, nerve, blood vessels, liver, pancreatic cells and blood cells to treat obstinate diseases.

AMC partners with FCB-Pharmicell, a company with a KGMP-compliant laboratory specialized in adult stem cell research. Through this partnership, AMC is developing tissue replacement and cell therapy methods to treat cancer, stroke, and myocardial infarction, the top 3 death causes.

At the same time, AMC's clinical departments are administering cell therapies using dendritic cells and MSCs (mesenchymal stem cells). We are also treating a patient whose limbs were paralyzed after a car accident in May 2008, using autologous MSCs.
