Korea's First Specialized Fetal Treatment Center

Each year, 3-4 % of babies are born with structural anomalies that lead to serious health problems. Although congenital anomalies have become a growing societal concern, many parents find themselves at loss as to where to turn for help. Opened in 2004, AMC Fetal Treatment Center is the first in Korea to offer specialized prenatal counseling and treatment for fetal anomalies. Despite our relatively short history, we are proud to provide world-class facilities and expert medical staff.

Leader in Ultrasound-Guided Fetal Intervention

We have performed a wide range of ultrasound-guided fetal therapeutic procedures, including fetal transfusion, thoracentesis and paracentesis for various cases of fetal fluid retention, fetal shunt operations, and radiofrequency catheter ablation. In particular, our fetal shunt therapeutic procedures have achieve a success rate of over 90%.

Multidisciplinary Counselling for Optimal Treatment

AMC Fetal Treatment Center is a part of AMC's efficient system of multidisciplinary consultations and referrals. Our team consists of specialists in all departments related to prenatal and postnatal care of congenital anomalies. When a fetal anomaly is detected, patients are immediately referred to relevant specialists in fields such as Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, and Pediatric Neurosurgery. This ensures coordinated prenatal counseling, as well as timely postnatal diagnosis and treatment.
