The Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease treats patients under the age of 18 with infectious and pyrogenic diseases which are caused by diverse strains.

Pediatric infectious diseases commonly occur along with fever in young children with immature immune system, so they are often brought to the emergency room and primary care hospitals.
Most healthy children quickly recover; but immunocompromised children due to enduring fever of unknown origin (FUO), complicated deep infectious diseases and anticancer treatment, and organ transplantation and various underlying diseases must be seen by specialists in pediatric infectious diseases for diagnosis and treatment.

In addition, the Vaccine Clinic protects immunocompromised patients from infectious diseases, promoting the health of infants and children who not only undergone organ transplantation and cochlear implants but also suffer from chronic diseases (kidney, liver, heart, nerve, etc.) and underlying diseases like asplenia.

We provide advice to the Children’s Hospital about pre- and post-operative infectious diseases and handle proper use of antibiotics and hospital infection control, helping patients recover quickly.

We support healthy growth of children by providing prevention and treatment of infectious diseases common in children and engage in not only controlling newly-emerging epidemics, but also diagnosing and treating complicated infectious diseases in immunocompromised patients (pediatric tumor, organ transplantation, immune deficiency, etc.)
