We shared joy and sorrow with children suffering from heart diseases with the establishment of AMC in 1989.
Those children have grown up. Some graduated from college and work as an independent adult or talk about marriage. The Congenital Heart Disease Center has made great strides so far and had changes in human resources - some left and some joined.
We became Korea’s best congenital heart disease center in both quantity and quality. And now we’re going to make a new leap forward based on the spirits of 3C (Cooperation, Collaboration, and Consideration). No one can do anything alone and nothing in life can be done alone. This is true even in medical practice. Above all, congenital heart disease treatment requires very complicated skills, so that close cooperation among many medical professionals as well as individual efforts are needed.
All our passionate members will always aim to be the best in this field and never stop challenging. In addition, we will engage in treatment, research, and education with open-minded attitudes. Furthermore we will not regard patients simply as people in need of medical attention, but respect them as human beings who have sensitive feelings and intelligence and treat like family.
The most effective way to produce the best treatment results and overcome stress felt all by patients, their families, and medical staff is to show their mutual trust, positive attitude, and efforts to understand one another’s positions. For this reason we will make a ceaseless effort to maintain beautiful relationships with patients since they were fetuses until becoming adults.
Besides, we will continue thinking over how to solve medical riddles about congenital heart diseases. Such efforts will not only serve our basic objectives of improving patients and their families’ quality of life and extending life, but also contribute to playing a pivotal role in this field.
