The Department of Pediatric Cardiology involves diagnoses and surgical treatment of all kinds of congenital heart diseases in both fetus and adults and acquired heart diseases in children.

As a field of pediatrics, we conduct diagnosis and medical treatment using echocardiography and cardiac angiography, non-operative treatment using interventional catheterization, electrophysiological testing and treatment of arrhythmia, and diagnosis and treatment of acquired heart diseases such as Kawasaki Disease.

The fatality rate of complicated congenital heart diseases was very high in the past; but as medical technologies evolved, it became possible to perform highly sophisticated surgery based on accurate diagnosis and treatment and allow patients live normal healthy life after treatment.
