A wide range of allergic diseases may arise if external substances commonly seen in our environment act as allergens (source of allergy)
for instance dust mites, pollen, mold, food, and drugs. To prevent and treat allergic diseases, above all it is important to identify the causasive allergen; then get rid of the allergen itself in the surrounding environment and administer the appropriate medicine. In case of a disease for which medicine is not efficacious, immunotherapy must be performed to suppress the inflammatory response to the allergen for an effective treatment. However, since allergic diseases are manifested by various symptoms not limited to specific parts of the body, it is difficult for patients to get an accurate diagnosis and treatment.
The Department of Allergy provides a comprehensive treatment system that allows clinical specialists to perform a variety of tests so as to identify accurately causes of allergic disorders. Also experienced staff including skilled physicians, nurses for allergy patients counseling & education, and medical laboratory technologists specialized in allergy tests closely cooperate to offer the best medical care and services.
The only way to radically cure allergic diseases is allergen-specific immunotherapy. Therefore we provide both subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy and are committed to radical cure and prevention of allergic diseases.
To maximize the specialized care of the increasing number of asthmatic patients, we opened the Asthma Center. The Center not only conducts tests for pulmonary function, airway smooth muscle relaxation, bronchial provocation, and induced sputum in cooperation with pulmonary vascular medical staff, but also offers a comprehensive effective treatment of asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD) and chronic cough as well as education and counseling for proper environment management, allergen avoidance, and medication.
